BrillSongs was the brainchild of Catherine Croydon. Sadly, after a long battle with cancer, Catherine died in October 2005. As a result, we are scaling down the operations of Hilltop Publishing, and will be unable to consider new writers or material. However all the existing material remains available for licensing. Catherine herself was a gifted composer and song-writer, writing rock and pop under the pen-name Kate Garvican. At her
funeral, she was described quite rightly as a polymath, and her music was a perfect example of that, with pieces ranging from classical through to funky house. As a memorial to her, we publish on this site a collection of her compositions, under the title, “Catherine’s Greatest Hits (That Should Have Been)”. Needless to say, all these tracks are still available for licensing/publishing if anyone out there takes a fancy to them. It would be a fitting tribute, though a cruel
irony, if her work were eventually recognised after her death, but that has been the fate of many great artists.
